Cambridge International School, Dasuya, with its team of fine and highly experienced teachers, adopts an innovative approach to education. We inculcate a strong desire to learn and, to accomplish this, we not only have a scientific understanding of how children learn and develop, but also design curriculum aimed to achieve it. Integrated teaching approach forms the core of educational methodology and combines the finest aspects of internationally accepted all-round excellence in students.

Early Years

Our teaching methodology in early years includes latest techniques and activities. Emphasis is on the development of motor skills, language, early mathematical concepts, social behavior and environment. Through a carefully directed program of play-way learning, children acquire varied experiences and explore their world in tune with their individual abilities. Our teachers are trained to observe and record children’s development and work closely with their parents, in a way to get to know each child better. Children pleasurably take their first steps in literacy and numerical skills, learning at their own pace, and begin to acquire the fundamental skills of reading, writing and mathematics. Play-way continues to be the medium of learning, gradually facilitating transition to more rigorous academic programs.

The varied activities, along with individual attention to each child, are designed to understand the kids’ interests and bring out their potentials at an early age, so that they can be nurtured in the right direction in higher classes.

The early years program at CISD is based on the international pedagogical practices of enquiry based, thematic learning. Believing that every child is unique, we have made our learning program completely child centered. Accordingly, teachers identify each child’s individual capabilities and devise relevant programs to develop them.

At the primary and middle levels, Cambridge International School Dasuya adopts a blend of curricula, integrating the Primary and Middle classes’ syllabi prepared by the National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT), prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), India, with that of the Primary Years’ Program of the University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), England. Teaching methodologies, incorporating the international best practices, aim at nurturing the unique gifts of the students.

This blend of national and international curricula is designed to prepare students in a way that they are able to successfully integrate into the national curriculum of CBSE or the international curriculum of CIE at secondary and senior secondary levels, as per their wishes, orientations and future plans. Besides, this integrated curriculum not only brings out the best in the students in their academic achievement but also amply caters to the need of value-based education imparting leadership qualities, universal values, forward thinking and global outlook.

The learning program in the Middle School at Cambridge International School Dasuya is based on the philosophy of total learning, the learning of head and heart. At this stage, we maintain a delicate balance between scholastic and co-scholastic areas of learning. At the same time, workshops on life skills are a regular feature at CISD, in order to prepare students to undergo the rigors of education at the senior school while developing into balanced individuals in their personal lives.

CISD students, MehakAmritKaurRandhava, SukhmanmeetKaur and LoveleenBatra were honored by the Jagaran group for this achievement in a special function held at RyatBahra.

The International Curriculum of CIE is a universally respected academic program which includes the International General Certificate of School Education (IGCSE – Grades 9/10) and the Advanced Subsidiary and Advanced Level courses (AS/A Level – Grades – 11/12). CISD offers both of these in the following subjects:

The broad and structured curriculum framework of CIE outlines the expected levels of achievement after the completion of the prescribed duration of each course, and lays down a regular program of student assessment and evaluation to ensure that the students work towards their potential and achieve their age-appropriate levels. CISD strictly follows the prescribed curricular program adhering to the highest standards of teaching and practical activities. Not surprisingly, students of CISD have given outstanding performances in CIE examinations as well.

In one of the most remarkable of such achievements, a CISD student –Arsh Mehta – became the all-India topper in Coordinated Sciences in IGCSE October/November 2012 examinations and was honored by Cambridge Board of International Examinations in a special function, adding another feather to the crown of CISD.

The academic program at the senior level not just prepares the students for their respective examinations; it is delivered in a way to impart the skills of critical, out of the box thinking. Thus, our students do not rely on rote learning but use their abilities of problem solving to succeed in their examinations. This is one of the most important reasons behind regular selections of our students in the topmost competitive examinations of the country, e.g. IIT JEE, state and CBSE engineering and medical entrances, and NDA. Besides, our students have been accepted by some of the finest universities abroad.
